Crété Chamberlin - Les Mazaux 2018

48,00 € 64,00 € / 1 l

Description

An exceptionally aged champagne by Crété Chamberlin, a single-varietal 100% Chardonnay Premier Cru from the historic "Les Mazaux" plot in Villeneuve-Renneville. This name evokes the land registry, those lines that precisely delineate the terroir – and that's exactly what this champagne does: it traces the geographical and temporal identity of a place.

The 2018 harvest was pressed in April 2019 and immediately cellared. Vinified in stainless steel tanks without malolactic fermentation, this minimalist approach preserves the natural acidity and striking minerality of the terroir. A bold choice that maintains the characteristic freshness and vivacity of Chardonnay.

The aging is remarkable: 5 and a half years on lees – an exceptionally prolonged maturation that develops remarkable aromatic complexity, rich flavor, and finesse. This patience allows the wine to reveal its most subtle layers, transforming young fruit into a profound expression of the terroir. Disgorged in January 2025, as a Brut Nature – just 1 gram – this champagne allows the Chardonnay to express itself fully in its purest essence.

Confidential production of 2,004 bottles. With 12° alcohol, it is a champagne of great finesse and depth – a demonstration that Chardonnay can reach its highest expressions when the producer prioritizes purity, terroir, and time. A rare wine where each year of aging has etched its mark in the minerality.
