This 2021 Jurançon is a dry white wine (as implied by the "Jurançon" appellation, without any mention of sweetness or late fermentation) produced by Domaine Castéra , owned by Franck Lihour in Monau, Pyrénées-Atlantiques. This Jurançon stands out for its character and complexity. The nose is powerful, dominated by notes of candied citrus (orange, lemon), exotic fruits (pineapple, mango), and floral and spicy nuances. On the palate, it is rich, dense, and boasts remarkable acidity, typical of Mansengs. Aging on the lees adds texture and a beautiful, lingering saline and bitter finish.
