Le Gall - 2019
49,49 € 65,99 € / 1 lDescription
A deeply rooted and uniquely poetic champagne by Yann Le Gall, a winegrower from Courmas. The 2019 vintage carries an elegant manifesto: "A unitary and identity-driven wine" – a wine that refuses compromise, that asserts its essence with sincerity.
This cuvée celebrates the Meunier of Courmas, this often-underestimated grape variety capable of expressing the greatest generosity when respected. Grown on the village's characteristic clay-limestone soil, the Meunier benefits from resolutely natural viticulture: no herbicides, mechanical soil work – farming that honors life and the ecosystem.
The winemaking reveals a minimalist and respectful philosophy: aging in 400 and 500-liter demi-muids – these large barrels that bring subtle woodiness and richness, without dominating the wine. Complete malolactic fermentation and lees stirring develop remarkable complexity and roundness. No cold stabilization, no filtration – this champagne remains raw, authentic, alive in its original matrix.
Disgorged on February 11, 2025, as an Extra Brut – only 1 gram – this champagne allows the Meunier of Courmas to fully express itself: generosity, minerality, natural freshness. A confidential production of 1,578 bottles. With its 12.5° alcohol, it is a rare and sincere champagne – a cry of viticultural identity, an affirmation that each grape variety, each terroir, each producer can say something unique and essential to the world.
