Simon Rion - Les Leusonnes 2022

53,90 € 71,87 € / 1 l

Description

A profoundly unique cuvée by Simon Rion, born from two intimately linked plots within the same micro-terroir in Les Leusonnes. This cuvée embodies the producer's philosophy: exploring the subtlety of a place, revealing its nuances through grape varieties and winemaking.

Two contiguous plots share the same soil: 7 ares of Chardonnay and 11 ares of Pinot Noir, interplanted in complementary harmony. The 2022 harvest was treated in a very particular way: the grapes were pressed directly together in the press, an immediate blending that fuses the two grape varieties into a single fermentation. This rare approach preserves the unity of the place and natural balance.

Aged entirely in oak barrels (2 barrels of 228 liters), the wine benefited from complete malolactic fermentation, followed by 11 months on total lees with regular bâtonnage. This prolonged maturation develops remarkable richness, complexity, and roundness. Without filtration or fining, this champagne preserves its raw and natural authenticity. Disgorged on October 1, 2025, with a minimalist dosage of 1 gram as "Extra Brut", it fully expresses the terroir of Les Leusonnes.

Ultra-confidential production: only 597 bottles. With its 12.5% alcohol, it is a rare and precious champagne, embodying Simon Rion's natural and respectful philosophy – a true grower's wine where every decision reveals remarkable oenological sincerity.
