Stéphane Regnault - CHROMATIQUE 2022

40,50 € 54,00 € / 1 l

Description

A singular and poetically named cuvée, "Chromatique" by Stéphane Regnault paints the rich terroir of Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oger, two neighboring Grand Crus with distinct characters. Made from 100% Chardonnay, this blended cuvée reveals the geological diversity of these exceptional terroirs.

The 2022 harvest fermented spontaneously and benefits from a subtle marriage of three approaches: 30% reserve wine providing roundness and stability, 45% vinified in stainless steel to preserve freshness and minerality, and 25% in wood to add aromatic richness and fleshy structure. Bottled in August 2023, this champagne matured on laths for approximately two years before disgorgement in June 2025, with a dosage measured at 2 grams – a trace of sugar that classifies it as "Extra Brut" and gives it a slight tempered sweetness.

The vines of Mesnil, planted on very chalky hillsides, bring a sharp minerality, a salinity characteristic of the quintessential white terroir. Those of Oger, planted on richer soil, complete the blend with a natural roundness. With its 12.5° alcohol, "Chromatique" offers balance and harmony: a symphony of nuances where mineral and fruity constantly dialogue, where rigor and generosity unite in a sophisticated and vibrant champagne.
