A deep and nuanced Champagne, aged with care
The R cuvée reflects the demanding know-how of Charles & Emmanuel Fourny , winemakers in Vertus since 1856. It highlights patient, committed work, where each gesture aims to magnify the terroir.
Made from 50-year-old Premier Cru vines, this Champagne is made from 100% Chardonnay , grown on rendzine on chalk . Only the first presses are used, with unfiltered vinification and 18 months of aging on lees in 100% barrels . The blend is based on 2 consecutive vintages , then the wine is aged for 4 additional years on lees in the estate's historic cellars.
The dosage is minimal (3–4 g/L) , based solely on natural grape sugar . The cork is carefully selected, guaranteed to be free of cork taint. The vintage is confidential: limited edition of 16,095 bottles .
