Terroirs of Écueil – A plural signature of the sands of Écueil
The Terroirs d'Écueil Extra Brut cuvée from Champagne Lacourte Godbillon embodies a reading of the village of Écueil in Premier Cru , by blending 15 wines from 3 harvests including 30% from 2021 aged 9 months on lees and 70% reserve wines .
Made from sandy-clay soils , the wine combines 85% Pinot Noir with 15% Chardonnay . The cuvée is vinified exclusively from the estate's grapes, with organic conversion initiated in 2017 and biodynamic practices established since 2019. Disgorging is dated October 11, 2024 , with an Extra Brut dosage of 3 g/L .
The stated philosophy is clear: "Let the terroir express itself and forget about compromise. A great Champagne wine can only come from great grapes."
