An ode to the terroir: Les Caourdettes de Beaunay
With the 2021 Les Caourdettes vintage, Champagne Oudiette highlights a unique plot nestled in Beaunay , in the heart of Champagne. Made from 100% Chardonnay , this artisanal wine is the result of practices that respect the local biotope, enhancing the deep identity of the terroir.
Only 2,744 bottles were produced, after 11 months of aging in 228-liter barrels , without stirring, fining, filtration or tartaric stabilization. The use of indigenous yeasts and dynamic settling give the wine its aromatic precision. The minimum dosage of 1.5g/L underlines its tension and purity.
The vintage was bottled on July 8, 2022 , and disgorged on October 15, 2024. It expresses the richness of a soil of 160 cm of iron oxide clay , mixed with Gryphaea fossils , characteristic of the fossiliferous limestone clay of the sector.
